I definitely needed internal work. When I first started, my thigh muscles were so tight (due to serotonin syndrome), that I had a pelvic floor PT who worked on my legs first, and did just a little internal work. By the time I had my second PT, my legs were mostly okay, so she did internal work. I needed it so badly, as my pelvic floor took forever to release. I was finally able to tolerate the virgin speculum (I am a virgin) through pelvic floor PT and dilator and core strengthening exercises at home.
